Born in Klaten in 1993, Enka Komariah graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts at the Indonesian Art Institute in 2017. He often incorporates satirical and ironic symbols into his art, blurring the lines between societal taboos and norms. He also explores his personal identity by drawing from the agrarian traditions of Java and contrasting them with popular cultural images.

A renowned fi gure in Indonesian contemporary art, Erizal As has become a regular at regional art fairs and exhibitions. Working in a distinctive and poetic approach, he delves into abstraction as a medium for exploring -- and at times deconstructing -- Minangkabau identity and the human condition. For Erizal, abstraction embodies a language that is at once individual and unrestricted by any singular interpretation. His paintings are not merely visual representations but are layered studies of power, infl uence, and the complexities of the human persona.

His most recent Nature series expands on his continued exploration of the essence and harmony of nature, inspired by observations of his hometown Padang Panjang, and Yogyakarta, where he currently resides. Whereas his previous nature paintings engaged with the historical legacy of landscape painting in Indonesia, his new body of work expresses an abstraction of nature through a more playful and imaginative approach. Rooted in the Minang philosophy of Alam Takambang Jadi Guru ("Nature is an eternal teacher") and the immersive nature of plein air painting, Erizal strives to create boundless compositions that refl ect the interconnected essence of the natural world around him: from gestural lines that fl ow beyond the borders of the canvas, to textural layers of glossy, vibrant impasto, unexpected forms emerge with overfl owing vitality and evoke the sensitivities of visual form. Using diff erently shaped canvases, each painting in the series is a lesson Erizal receives from alam (nature) manifested into color and form, affi rming the process of artistic creation as an act of knowing in his search for an inner, authentic self.

A graduate of Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, Erizal’s exhibitions include Darek #1: Bentang Alam (Plateau #1: Landscapes) at Gajah Gallery Jakarta, Formless Existence at Gajah Gallery Singapore, Bakaba #5 (Sakato Art Community), If Time Stopped (Group Exhibition at Gajah Gallery Yogyakarta), Reborn Every Time (Sangkring Art Space), and the Indonesian Contemporary Art Exhibition in Beijing. He lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Esther Sutanto’s photographic practice investigates the human body as a site where material, movement, time, and consciousness converge. Drawing from the logic of lucid dreams—where awareness and surrender exist simultaneously—her work operates within a liminal space between reality and imagination, control and instinct. Through layered constructions and close collaborations with dancers, she captures gestures in motion, emphasizing impermanence, repetition, and subtle variation. 

Alongside her photographic process, Esther works with artificial intelligence to generate dreamlike imagery that extends these explorations beyond physical space, creating visual states that resemble lucid dreaming. These hybrid practices slow perception and unsettle linear time, inviting viewers into an altered, embodied experience of seeing. Grounded in photography yet extending beyond its conventional limits, her work remains poetic, restrained, and quietly enigmatic.

Evi Pangestu (b.1992, Indonesia) is a painter who investigates rebellion and control within the parameter of convention. Working mainly in square, she expresses her concerns by creating paintings that stretch limits and adjusting forms as a constructed rebellion. Pangestu is currently based between Oakland and Jakarta. She has lived and worked itinerantly since she graduated from Royal College of Art in 2019.

Faelerie lahir di Wonosobo pada 25 April 1994. Setelah menyelesaikan pendidikan menengah, ia melanjutkan studi di Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, jurusan Desain Komunikasi Visual angkatan 2012, dan meraih gelar Sarjana Desain pada tahun 2019.

Sejak kecil, Faelerie memiliki kedekatan yang kuat dengan material tekstil, yang dipengaruhi oleh ibunya sebagai seorang penjahit. Kedekatan ini berkembang menjadi eksplorasi artistik yang serius terhadap material tekstil, khususnya teknik rajut (crochet), yang ia pilih karena sifatnya yang sangat versatile dan mampu membentuk berbagai kemungkinan visual maupun konseptual.

Faelerie telah berpartisipasi dalam berbagai pameran, antara lain ARTJOG Yogyakarta pada tahun 2023 dan 2025. Pameran tunggal pertamanya bertajuk Merenda Tubuh, Menghias Luka diselenggarakan di Rachel Gallery, Jakarta, pada tahun 2024. Ia juga mengikuti pameran Lost in Translation, collateral event dari IOTA 2024 di Atta Gallery, Bangkok, Thailand, serta Silent Threads di RedBase Gallery, Sydney, Australia, pada tahun 2024. Atas praktik artistiknya, Faelerie meraih penghargaan ARTJOG Young Artist Award 2025 serta nominasi ARTJOG Young Artist Award 2023.

Bagi Faelerie, merajut adalah seni membentuk garis-garis nyata melalui benang, yang kemudian berkembang menjadi bidang, bentuk, dan volume. Proses kreatif yang panjang dan repetitif menjadi pemicu untuk mengakses kembali kenangan-kenangan berharga, yang ia tangkap melalui simpul-simpul rajutan yang rumit. Kerapuhan menjadi inti dari praktik artistiknya—ia tertarik pada objek-objek konkret yang robek dan tampak rapuh, namun tetap memiliki kekuatan serta fungsi. Setiap kerusakan menghadirkan memori dan narasi tersendiri.

Melalui visual abstrak maupun representasi tubuh manusia yang terabstraksi, Faelerie berupaya menyampaikan kerapuhan yang melekat pada lingkungan sekitar dan eksistensi manusia. Dengan menggabungkan elemen fisik tubuh dan emosi, karya-karyanya mengeksplorasi pengalaman manusia sebagai sesuatu yang rapuh sekaligus bertahan.

Dalam proses merajut yang ritmis, Faelerie secara tidak sadar mengalami perjalanan waktu melalui simpul-simpul yang teranyam. Seperti irama waktu, detak jantung, napas, dan langkah, kehidupan dipahami sebagai sebuah progresi ritmis—sebuah hitungan mundur menuju akhir. Proses ini memperdalam pemahamannya akan sifat rapuh dari eksistensi manusia.

Muhammad Fauzan, Born in Bukittinggi , Indonesia, 1998. Graduated

from Indonesian Institute of The Arts, Yogyakarta, Faculty of Fine Art,

Department of painting of art in 2023 and continuing his master’s degree at

Pascasarjana ISI Yogyakarta.

Since 2015, Fauzan has chosen to focus on fine art artist, particularly

painting. After graduating, Fauzan decided to pursue a career as an full

time artist and currently lived in Yogyakarta.

Fauzan likes watching films, music and photography too, many of his

paintings are Inspired from there, the visuals of dreamscape paintings that

are always present and sea animals that seem to fly through the air indicate

that Fauzan seems to want to erase the boundaries between the sea and

land worlds so that he can be wild in himself. his work seems to have no

limits, the message he conveys is not far from stories of experiences and

cultural tales from where he was born, namely West Sumatra.

Fauzan has also been actively exhibiting from 2018 until now, his

works have been present in various cities in Indonesia and abroad. Fauzan

has also held 2 solo exhibitions with the exhibition titles “Purple in Blooms”

and “Merangkai”

born in May 1983. Lives and works in Yogyakarta.

I'm a self-taught artist, self-training and doing it myself.

Some things I get from talking art with artist friends

The world of art for me is doing what I love and teaching myself to be sovereign and responsible for what I do. That's where I got to know more about my self-taught process in the art field. Many see, feel, and try to understand works of art from various genres as wide as the universe that will not be written or painted enough. We are only trying to proclaim the majesty of the Creator with the aim of conveying the beauty of the universe from an individual perspective. I work seriously by using whatever materials I can, such as: marker, acrylic, enamel, rubber, asphalt/bitumen and black silicone on canvas. And I will continue to develop the process of finding or researching this material. For canvas, I chose raw canvas which I gesso/applied myself, for me it's a matter of personal satisfaction. I do every day like a routine. For me, it's a way to improve my painting skills. The most important thing for me is the process: trying, trying and trying. Results are not a priority, results are effects, I believe God has arranged them. That no matter how good our efforts, God has determined the best for us.

My work speaks or raises a simple and personal theme, sometimes even without a theme, flows without cause like water, like an abstract painting without a title but lines and colors describe something beautiful and unusual, and form a new object/figure in my mind.

Obviously I like something positive. About togetherness, family, solid and About the spirit of progress in order to achieve the desire for success in this life, namely happiness itself. I want everyone to be happy and Happy to see my art. And I will be happier of course. For me, sharing with others is a noble hope and goal. Because the creator did that to us. God makes creation happy in his own way. Even then we will never guess, without us knowing we are happy without a reason. Like paint that is scratched aimlessly but in the end it will arrive at a result that the process we did not realize before. Whatever and in any way I will do to deliver the beauty. Because it's good.

(b 1984) completed his studies at the Department of Fine Art, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). He completed his master’s degree also at the Fine Art Study Program, Bandung Institute of Technology. 

Gabriel focusing on explores the inclusion of new materials into his artistic practice that previously concentrated in stone carving. The inclusion of polyresin and acrylic sheets enables him to discuss contradiction and opposition, and the possibilities to establish balance and harmony from two contradictory entities.

Gabriel has participated in several national and international exhibitions. He has also

participated in artist residency programs at Sungai Segget Public Art Programs, Johor

Bahru, Malaysia (2017). In 2018 he doing two solo exhibition in a row, KONTRAS MATERI

(Orbital Dago, Bandung), and SELA SAWALA (CG Art Space, Jakarta).
