Yohan Liliyani

Yohan Liliyani (b. 1992) is a practicing female Indonesian artist, sculptor and photographer imbued with the fascination of the ordinary stills.

Liliyani challenges our gaze to reconfigure on how we paint portraiture, by using objects instead of subjects. 

Her first series documents “artifacts” as not stills, yet as portraiture of the living. Liliyani’s background as fashion photographer allows her to play the duality of both objects versus subjects within the lens of the composer.
